Shelby County Office of Reentry
The ultimate goals of the Shelby County Office of Reentry are:
To create connections between Shelby County reentry resources and specific employers ready to hire people with a criminal history.
Realign our focus from a traditional soft skills training, to hands-on technical and vocational programs in an effort to assist our clients to gain self sufficient employment, or become entrepreneurs.
FOCUSED is a 10 week training program that combines job readiness with the opportunity for selection into one of our vocational training programs in the following areas:
- Commercial /Residential Janitorial Certification
- Commercial / Residential Construction
- Small Engine Repair
- Low Voltage Electrician Apprenticeship
- Forklift Training
- Commercial Drivers License
- Welding**
- Machinery**
- Culinary Arts**
- Diesel Mechanic**
**In partnership with Southwest Tennessee Community College.**
Our clients will participate in a holistic network of community services designed to restore dignity and confidence while providing opportunities for individual and family success. Clients that complete (minimum 80% attendance) FOCUSED will have opportunities to gain self suffiency through employment or become entrepreneurs.
